Remote Network Access Policy

Users of the IMSS Remote Network Access services (dialup modem and VPN) are bound by the Network Policy Regarding Devices Connected to the Caltech Network (CITnet).

IMSS provides remote connectivity to the Caltech network and the Internet via:

If you already have Internet connectivity at home, via dialup or DSL or non-Charter cablemodem, and need access to sites which are restricted to allow access only to Caltech computers, VPN may be a good solution for you. Caltech uses the Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrators to provide VPN service.

Local dialup connectivity is available to everyone with an IMSS account without charge. There is also a fee-based 1-800 service (click on the dialup modem page above for more details).

If you live in a Caltech off-campus property, please doublecheck the correct place to direct your support requests.
