Henge, the Caltech Day Planner

Henge, Caltech's Oracle Calendar system, is being retired at the end of calendar year 2009.  Before the system is retired, current Henge users will be transitioned to the Exchange calendar system.  Please click here for more information on the transition from Henge to Exchange.

Campuswide Calendaring Solution

Henge is the IMSS desktop calendaring solution for Caltech. Including both web access and native client software for most common computing platforms, Henge offers a simple and straightforward means of individual personal calendaring as well as organizing facility and resource availability for groups on campus.

The Henge service uses the Corptime product by Oracle, formerly Steltor. Getting started is a four-step process.

Getting Started

Step 1 Before Henge is retired, current users will be transitioned to the Exchange calendar system.  While IMSS would rather not create any new Henge accounts, we recognize that some campus groups will continue to use Henge until this migration is complete.  If a new Henge account is necessary, please click here for information on how to setup a Henge account.

Step 2 Decide which Henge client best meets your needs.

Step 3 Download your client of choice.

Step 4 Install and configure your Henge client.

Using Henge

Use understandable titles for agenda titles. People viewing the meeting details should understand the purpose of the meeting. Using short titles like "Monthly Meeting" may not be descriptive enough.

Check your invitee's calendar, or use the CorporateTime "Check conflicts" feature, before inviting them.

Specify the location of the meeting. If the location is in one of the rooms included in the calendar as a resource, when you invite the resource, the location field will be filled in automatically.

Use the details field.

Please check our Usage Guides:
