06/23/2017: The campus Matlab license servers were updated last night; version R2017a for network installations is now available for download. 

06/15/2017: Effective August 25, 2017, the Caltech Library will be terminating its campus wide license for EndNote. At that time, EndNote will no longer be available for download from the software.caltech.edu webstore.

06/09/2017: Matlab R2017a for single-machine/standalone installations is availble for download. The network version will be available once the license server has been updated.

10/07/2016: National Instruments LabVIEW licenses expired effective November, 8 2016. IMSS has renewed the license and can issue replacement license files good through 11/08/2017. To request an updated license file, please email your computer name and computer ID along with a billing account number to software@caltech.edu. Instructions on how to locate your machine ID can be found at NI.com.

10/07/2016: IMSS would like to remind the campus that we do not have a site license for Adobe Creative Cloud. Individuals using a caltech.edu email address can purchase a student/teacher subscription directly from the http://adobe.com website for $239.88/year for the first year and $359.88/year after.

10/04/2016: Some Matlab users may receive a message that their Matlab license will expire within 60 days. Rest assured that IMSS is currently in the process of renewing our campus Matlab license. Note that network installations of Matlab do not need to do anything to update their license. IMSS will update the campus Matlab license in November, which will automatically renew all network installations. For those using a standalone installation, renew your license before it expires in November by following the instructions here.

09/09/2016: AutoCAD 2016 is available for download. Note that Caltech's AutoDesk Education license may only be used by students and educators for academic purposes. The use of educational software to design, construct or manage educational facilities (i.e. Facilities, Buildings & Grounds) is no longer included under the educational product license agreement. Facilities groups that want to continue to use AutoDesk products must purchase commercial licenses instead. 

09/09/2016: Mathematica 11 is now available for network installations, in addition to standalone installations. 

08/16/2016: Mathematica 11 is now available for download for standalone installation only. The network version will be available in a few weeks after we update the campus license server.

04/14/2016: Magma downloads have been updated to V2.21-11 for Mac and Linux. The latest Windows version is still V2.20-10.

03/29/2016: Maple 2016 (single machine/standalone) is available for download.

03/04/2016: Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre 2016 is available for download.

11/12/2015: If your Matlab standalone installation displays a notice that the license will expire within 60 days or less, you will need to renew your license for another year. To renew your license, please follow these instructions.

10/08/2015: Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 is available for download.

09/24/2015: Microsoft Office 2016 Standard for Mac is available for download.

08/07/2015: SolidWorks 2015-2016 Education Edition is available for download.

08/07/2015: Microsoft has released Windows 10, which is available as a free upgrade for users of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Windows 10 is also available to Caltech students through the Microsoft DreamSpark program (http://msdnaa.caltech.edu). Faculty and staff may download Windows 10 from the http://software.caltech.edu webstore. Please note that Windows 10 is a major product release that includes significant changes to the user interface, functionality, application/document compatibility and system performance. IMSS strongly recommends that customers evaluate Windows 10 on test systems before installing them on any production systems to avoid any interruption of work-related computing tasks. While IMSS can provide best-efforts support for Windows 10, we cannot guarantee compatibility with the systems and services you most commonly use. IMSS will continue to evaluate Windows 10 and will post updates as they become available.

07/09/2015: Microsoft recently released Office 2016 for Mac to Office 365 customers. Caltech’s Office 365 subscription allows access.caltech account holders to download and install Office 2016 for Mac on up to 5 devices. Instructions to install Office 2016 for Mac can be found here. Note that to install Office 2016, you must be running OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) or later. Also note that campus system administrators that manage labs or multiple machines should not use the Office 365 version of Office 2016 for Mac due to the 5 device install limit. The campus site licensed version of Office 2016 for Mac will be available for download from the http://software.caltech.edu webstore upon release to volume licensing customers.

07/09/2015: ChemBioDraw/ChemBioOffice licenses need to be renewed after June 30. Instructions to reactivate can be found at http://imss.caltech.edu/software/chembiodraw-activation.

05/28/2015: ChemDraw Professional 2015 for Mac and ChemOffice Professional 2015 for Windows are now avaialble for download

05/12/2015: Summer students are not eligible to download most of our site licensed software. Only Microsoft Forefront and Symantec Endpoint are available to students at http://software.caltech.edu (click for the download in the Announcements section).

03/01/2015: IMSS no longer offers Adobe Creative Suite products for sale through the software.caltech.edu webstore because Adobe has discontinued sales of its standalone Creative Suite products. To purchase Adobe software, Creative Cloud subscriptions are available for purcahse directly from the Adobe.com website.

01/22/2015: Effective February 9, 2015, the IMSS-run proxy server which registers campus Red Hat systems to receive updates will be retired and transitioned to a new Satellite server. In order to continue to receive RHEL updates, you will need to download a new script to register your systems to receive updates. Instructions on how to obtain this new script can be found on the Caltech software webstore. If you previously ordered RHEL from the software webstore, you can find these updated instructions in your software order details. Otherwise, simply place a new order for RHEL to obtain these instructions. Also note that effective 2/9/2015, toughguy.caltech.edu, a former RHEL resource, will be retired.

1/15/2015: Adobe will discontinue CS6 sales at the end of February. The last day to order Adobe CS6 products from the software.caltech.edu webstore will be February 23rd.

12/19/2014: AutoCAD 2015 and Mathematica 10.0.2 are now available for download.

12/18/2014: AutoCAD is now free for educational institutions.

12/12/2014: PTC licenses expire annually in December. If your PTC installation has stopped working, please request a new license file by sending your MAC address (host ID) to software@caltech.edu.

12/12/2014: The Matlab license server triad is retired. If you have not yet updated your license file to connect to the new single replacement server, please follow these instructions to do so.

10/28/2014: RHEL 7 and RHEL 6.6 are now available for download.

10/17/2014: Matlab R2014b is now available for download.

09/19/2014: If you are using a network installation of Matlab, please update your license file. This will ensure that your Matlab network installation accesses the new license server and will prevent a disruption of service once the older servers are retired on December 11, 2014. For instructions on how to obtain and update this license file, click here. NOTE: Standalone installations do not need license files updated since they do not require network access to run. However, if your standalone installation displays a notice that the license will expire within 60 days, you will need to renew your license for another year. To renew your license, please follow these instructions.

09/11/2014: All new Adobe orders will now be held for billing for the new fiscal year beginning October 1, 2014.

08/14/2014: Mathematica 10 is now available for download.

07/17/2014: Solidworks 2014-2015 is now available for download.

06/30/2014: Adobe has once again made CS6 products available for purchase. Get your licenses now before Adobe ends this program (again)! Place your Adobe orders by September 12, 2014 to be billed to the current fiscal year. Orders placed after 9/12 may be billed in the following fiscal year beginning October 1, 2014.

06-19-2014: ChemBioDraw Ultra 14 for Mac and ChemBioOffice Ultra 14 are now available for download.

06-16-2014: The University of Sydney Computational Algebra Group's MAGMA software is available for download. The software has been made available free of charge through a generous initiative of the Simons Foundation.

06-10-2014: A reminder to graduating students: Upon leaving the institute, any Caltech site licensed software installed on personally owned computer(s) must be removed. Caltech site licensed software may only be used by active faculty, staff, and students. Alumni are not authorized to use Caltech site licensed software.

04-30-2014: Adobe is ending general availability of CS6 perpetual licenses in May. The last day to place any Adobe CS6 orders at Caltech's volume license discount pricing via software.caltech.edu is May 16. Order your licenses before they're no longer available!

03-25-2014: Matlab R2014a is now available for download. The campus Matlab servers have not been updated to the R2014a version, so network licenses for R2014a are not yet available for use. If you need to use Matlab R2014a, please use a standalone/single-machine license.

03-20-2014: RHEL 6.5 is now available for download.

03-18-2014: Cambridge Structural Database System 2014 Release and Maple 18 are now available for download. Matlab R2014a will be available for download on March 21.

02-06-2014: During the February 6th maintenance window, the software.caltech.edu home page will be redirected to the software licensing section of the IMSS website. All content from the software.caltech.edu website has already been migrated to the IMSS website, organized in the menus to the right. Any specific licensing information, including license server addresses, license file download locations, etc. may be obtained from your order purchase receipts under Your Account/Orders after login. The login and ordering process will remain the same. If you have any questions, please contact us.

01-24-2014: AntiVirus software downloads have moved to the Announcements section at the top of the software webstore. After logging in, click on the "DOWNLOAD ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE HERE" link under Announcements to obtain the software you need. Note that you will need to enter your access.caltech credentials again to download.

12-02-2013: IMSS has renewed our campus Matlab license. Click here for instructions on how to renew your license.

10-24-2013: National Instruments LabVIEW software is now available for purchase and download. An annual fee of $100 per license will allow use of the most current LabVIEW Professional Development System suite of software, which normally retails for $5,299 ($1,325 for academic pricing.) The license includes LabVIEW Professional, all modules and toolkits, and the circuits option. 10-24-2013: Windows 8.1 is now available for download. Note that the Windows 8.1 update that is available for download from software.caltech.edu may ONLY be used to update Windows 8 installations that were also obtained via software.caltech.edu or from IMSS. If your Windows 8 installation was obtained elsewhere, you must download the free update from the Windows store.

07-21-2012: The Maple license server that hosted Maple 11, 12 and 13 was retired. This means that all network installations of Maple 11, 12 and 13 have ceased to function. Note that standalone installations for Maple 11, 12 and 13 are not affected. Pease begin using either the network installation of Maple 14, or any other standalone version.

04-21-2011: Effective Thursday, April 21, 2011, historical purchase and download data from the previous software.caltech.edu service are no longer available on the new service While the software you previously purchased and downloaded from the current service will continue to operate as usual after April 21, additional product downloads, historical receipts and license keys from the current service are no longer available. Customers who purchased paid software from the previous service and did not keep their installation files, receipts or license keys for their own records and need to retrieve this information can contact us at http://help.caltech.edu (request type IMSS-->Software Licensing & Distribution-->Other.)
