Beginning on Monday, June 15th, the Duo Mobile application will start providing security notifications on iOS and Android devices. These notifications, serve as a reminder for Duo-enabled users to maintain their mobile devices up to date with security updates and features. This feature is informational only, it will not enforce or automate updates/changes on your mobile device(s).
How can I access these notifications?
The notifications can be accessed via notifications at the bottom of the app or via the app menu:
- iOS: Menu > Security Checkup
- Android: Menu > Settings > Security Checkup
What do I need to do to prepare for this change?
This feature is being enabled on the administrative side, you will not need to make any changes to your mobile device or Duo Mobile app.
What security features are being checked on my phone?
Android
- OS is up to date
- Duo Mobile app is up to date
- Full Disk Encryption is enabled
- Screen Lock is enabled
- Device is not rooted (restrictions place on what files, data, and other system options you can access, usually imposed by your cellular service provider)
- Passes GoogleSafetyNet Attestation
- Fingerprint is enabled
iOS
- OS is up to date
- Duo Mobile app is up to date
- Screen Lock is enabled
- Device is not jailbroken
- Touch ID or Face ID is enabled
