IMSS is in the process of implementing several email protocols (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) to improve our defenses against email spoofing. Email spoofing is the forgery of an email such that the message appears to have originated from someone or somewhere other than the actual source. It is a technique employed by bad actors to trick recipients into trusting the source of an email, thereby increasing the effectiveness of phishing and other email-based cyber attacks. These protocols will be implemented in a series of steps spanning several months beginning on Wednesday, September 9th.
