Multi-factor authentication is a security technology that requires multiple methods of authentication, such as username, password, and a third factor, such as a smartphone app like Duo Mobile. Due to the threatening environment the internet is today and in an effort to better secure user's Office 365 applications (Email, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive), IMSS will begin a phased approach to enroll users in MFA (Duo) for Office 365.
There are many groups on campus that are already using MFA (Duo) for Office 365.
IMSS will start reaching out to additional groups from CaltechIMSS@caltech.edu to inform them about their enrollment date and how to prepare for this change.
