Effective March 1, IMSS will no longer offer Symantec EndPoint Protection. IMSS recommends the following instead:
- Uninstalling Symantec from Windows or uninstalling Symantec from Mac
- For Windows users, the built-in Windows Security for Windows 10 and 11 provides the latest antivirus protection at no additional cost. Updates are also downloaded automatically to help keep your device safe and protect it from malware, viruses, and other threats. - For Apple device users, Apple Platform Security is already built into the operating system to protect against malware and other vulnerabilities. For more information on how to secure your Mac, click here.
Note that computers managed by IMSS through our Managed Computing service do not use Symantec EndPoint, and are therefore unaffected by this change. If you have any questions, please contact the Help Desk (x3500, help@caltech.edu, https://help.caltech.edu).
