I have a new phone, what do I need to do for Duo?
Duo can easily be set up on a new phone. To ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible, please read our page about Duo Backup & Restore. This is especially important if you are also using the Duo Mobile app for personal credentials.
Set up Duo on a new phone (same phone number)
- Navigate to the Duo Device Management Portal
- Find your previous phone in the list of devices and select "I have a new phone" and follow the instructions on the screen. If there is no phone in the list of devices, select "Add a device" then select "Duo Mobile", enter your phone number, and select "Continue".
- Duo will display a QR code on the screen. Open the Duo Mobile app on your mobile device, select "+Add" then select "Use QR code" and use your device's camera to scan the QR code.
Set up Duo on a new phone (new phone number)
- Navigate to the Duo Device Management Portal
- Find your previous phone in the list of devices and select "Edit", then "Delete". Then select "Add a device" and "Duo Mobile", enter your phone number, and select "Continue".
- Duo will display a QR code on the screen. Open the Duo Mobile app on your mobile device, select "+Add" then select "Use QR code" and use your device's camera to scan the QR code.
