Connect Remotely to My Work Computer
The instructions provided below will allow you to connect from your remote (home) computer to your work computer. Please note that in order for this to work, you must have enabled your work computer for Remote Desktop access.
Requirements
- Windows 10 Pro - Your home computer must have Windows 10 Pro. Home edition does not support Remote Desktop.
- VPN - Make sure that VPN is installed on your home computer
Instructions
Connect to VPN
- Open Cisco AnyConnect on your home computer
- The ready to connect prompt should say vpn.caltech.edu

- Click Connect
- Enter your Caltech username and password and click Ok

Connect to your Work Computer via Remote Desktop
- On your home computer Search for Remote Desktop and open it

- Enter your work computer name [computername.caltech.edu] or IP Address
- Click Connect

- You will then be prompted to enter your username and password. This is the account information for your work computer.
