Eligibility Cost
Anyone with access.caltech credentials can connect to Caltech Secure. This includes Caltech faculty, postdocs, graduate and undergraduate students, staff, retirees, and visitors who have completed paperwork with Human Resources. Free

How to Connect

  1. Open WiFi Settings
  2. Select Caltech Secure
  3. Enter your access.caltech username and password
  4. Click Join
  5. Click Trust to accept the security certificate

Advanced Settings

  1. EAP Method: select PEAP
  2. Phase 2 authentication: select MSCHAPv2
  3. Enter your Identity: your Access.Caltech username
  4. Some devices may have an "anonymous identity" field. Leave this blank.
  5. Enter Wireless Password: your Access.Caltech Password
  6. Certificate: System Default or None

Android Troubleshooting

If you are trying to connect to the campus Wi-Fi Secure or EduRoam and are prompted for a domain name, enter: caltech.edu

If you enter caltech.edu, in the domain field, and still are unable to connect, please follow the below steps.

  1. Click on this link to the Certificate to download and install the certificate on your phone
  2. On your phone open Settings
  3. Go to Security
  4. Go to Encryption & Credentials
  5. Go to Install from storage
  6. Select CA Certificate from the list of types available
  7. Accept the warning
  8. Browse to the certificate file on the device and open it
  9. Confirm the certificate install
  10. Reconnect to Caltech Secure or EduRoam
  11. When prompted for the domain name, enter caltech.edu
